Overview

The Desko GRSU 500 S is part of the DESKO PENTA Scanner family — an innovative OEM full-page document reader designed for flexible installation in e-gates, kiosks, and counters. As an intelligent, self-contained device, it supports OCR, barcode, and magnetic stripe reading directly on the device itself, depending on hardware configuration, reducing the performance requirements placed on the host system. The scanner captures ID document images using three light sources (visible, infrared, and UV-A) and is designed for self-service and agent-operated environments such as passport control or boarding pass verification.

  • Integrated OCR recognition: ICAO document reader capable of reading and decoding OCR data with at least a 99% read rate, compliant with ISO/IEC 7501-1 standards.

  • Multiple data interfaces: Sends scanned data to the host via USB or RS232, with USB virtual COM available on request.

  • Flexible mounting: Equipped with four M3 thread inserts for mounting, with optional mounting kits available.
