Overview

The Pepperl+Fuchs KFA6-SR2-Ex1.W is a 1-channel isolated barrier used for intrinsic safety applications, transferring digital signals from a hazardous area to a safe area. It supports NAMUR sensor inputs per EN 60947-5-6, or mechanical/dry contact inputs, and features line fault detection (LFD) for monitoring the control circuit for lead breakage, along with a reversible mode of operation. The proximity sensor or switch controls a form C changeover relay contact for the safe area load, and during an error condition, the relay reverts to its de-energized state with LED fault indication according to NAMUR NE44. Operating on a 230V AC supply, this switch amplifier is designed as a safety barrier for connecting hazardous-area sensors to standard control systems.
