Overview

This is a Teltonika RUT956, an industrial-grade router that combines 4G LTE Cat 4 cellular, Wi-Fi, and wired Ethernet connectivity with automatic WAN failover and GNSS positioning. Beyond internet connectivity, it includes RS232 and RS485 serial interfaces and configurable digital/analog I/O, letting it integrate legacy and industrial equipment such as sensors, PLCs, and alarms directly into a networked automation ecosystem. Housed in a durable aluminium enclosure and running Teltonika's RutOS software, it's built for demanding IoT, M2M, and industrial automation deployments where uninterrupted connectivity is essential.

  • Dual SIM with automatic failover: Two Mini SIM (2FF) slots plus optional eSIM support, with configurable auto-switching on weak signal, data limits, roaming, or network denial.
  • 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity: Up to 150 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload, with automatic fallback to 3G and 2G where LTE coverage is limited.
  • Serial and I/O integration: RS232 (DB9) and RS485 interfaces for Modbus RTU and similar protocols, plus configurable digital and analog inputs/outputs for equipment control and automation via the built-in I/O Juggler feature.
  • GNSS positioning: Supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS for location tracking and time synchronization, with geofencing support.
  • Full networking and VPN suite: 4 x Ethernet ports (1 WAN, 3 LAN), Wi-Fi 4 access point/station modes, and support for OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, and other VPN protocols alongside Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, SNMP, and TR-069 for remote management.
  • Rugged build for industrial use: Aluminium enclosure with IP30 protection, operating temperature range of −40 °C to 75 °C, and DIN rail, wall, or flat-surface mounting options.
