Complete mobile perception and drive-by-wire testing platform for autonomous vehicle development

Overview

This is a fully integrated Advanced Autonomous Sensor Testing Cart, built for developers, researchers, and engineers working on drive-by-wire and extreme autonomy vehicle technologies. The cart combines a multi-sensor perception suite — LiDAR, radar, vision cameras, and IMU — with an industrial onboard computer, CANBus interfacing, and a Bosch Rexroth BODAS drive-by-wire controller, giving a self-contained mobile platform for validating autonomous software stacks and sensor fusion algorithms outside a full vehicle build. Wiring is not yet finalized; full schematics are provided with the sale.

  • Multi-modal LiDAR perception: 4x RoboSense RS-Bpearl short-range blind-spot LiDARs (360°x90° FOV, IP67), 1x Hesai Pandar40P long-range spinning LiDAR, and 1x Velodyne VLP-16 Puck, each with dedicated interface boxes for full-vehicle-perimeter coverage.
  • 5x Continental ARS 408 long-range radar: 77 GHz automotive radar sensors for redundant, weather-resilient object detection and tracking.
  • Precision inertial navigation: Parker Lord Microstrain 3DM-GX5-AHRS for high-accuracy attitude and heading reference, supporting sensor fusion and localization.
  • Drive-by-wire control: Bosch Rexroth BODAS RC10-10/31 controller for actuating and managing vehicle drive-by-wire functions.
  • RTK-capable GNSS positioning: ArduSimple simpleRTK2B board with a multiband IP66 GNSS antenna for centimeter-level position accuracy.
  • Ethernet-based PoE camera array: 4x Axis modular camera sensor units plus an Axis main unit with SIM card slots for cellular-connected video capture.
  • Full CANBus and network infrastructure: PEAK PCAN-USB X6 (6-channel CAN FD), Advantech EKI-2728I industrial Ethernet switch, and a Moxa Oncell G3150A-LTE cellular gateway.
