Navya Arma 2019 Autonomous Shuttle — Driverless Electric Vehicle / Autonomous Robot Bus

Fully electric, driverless shuttle for first/last-mile transport and autonomous R&D platforms

Overview

This is a Navya Arma 2019 Autonomous Shuttle, a fully electric, driverless vehicle built for first and last-mile passenger transport in urban and campus environments. Equipped with drive-by-wire technology, a full suite of LiDAR, camera, and positioning sensors, and powerful onboard computing, the Arma integrates directly with autonomous driving stacks and supports both structured passenger service operation and R&D development work. Its bidirectional driving capability and zero-emission electric powertrain make it a flexible platform for exploring autonomous mobility solutions.

Key Features

  • 11-passenger capacity: Seats 11 passengers with 4 additional standing spaces, suited to shuttle-service passenger loads.
  • Advanced multi-sensor perception: Uses 2 3D LiDARs, 6 2D LiDARs, 2 cameras, a 360° camera, IMU, odometry, and a GNSS antenna for precise navigation and real-time obstacle detection.
  • Bidirectional drive-by-wire operation: Drives forward or backward without turning around, using advanced actuators for steering, braking, and propulsion.
  • Manual and automated modes: Switches between manual operation and fully automated driving mode depending on operational needs.
  • Zero-emission electric powertrain: Powered by a 33 kWh LiFePO4 battery pack, supporting up to 9 hours of operation at a maximum speed of 25 km/h.
  • Remote monitoring connectivity: 3G/4G communication enables remote fleet monitoring alongside standard GNSS positioning.
