Overview

The Hirschmann SPIDER 5TX is an entry-level, unmanaged industrial Ethernet rail switch offering 5 x 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 ports with auto-crossing, auto-negotiation, and auto-polarity, using store-and-forward switching mode. Part of the SPIDER range — which allows cost-effective entry into Industrial Ethernet technology — this compact switch can be used to link Ethernet nodes in a star or linear topology, or as a low-cost port expansion option on managed systems in larger networks. Well suited for process lines and machine manufacturing applications, it can be cascaded to any depth for building local structured networks with short transmission distances.
