Overview

This is an Advantech EKI-2728I, an 8-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch from Advantech's EKI-2000 series, built for reliable network connectivity in demanding industrial environments. It provides eight 10/100/1000Base-T(X) ports with Auto MDI/MDI-X, housed in a compact, slim IP30-rated metal enclosure that resists dust and physical stress on the factory floor. Designed as a wide-temperature ("I") variant, it's suited to plant-floor network segments, machine cabinets, and any application needing straightforward, plug-and-play Gigabit switching without a management interface.

  • 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports: Full 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation with Auto MDI/MDI-X on every port, removing the need for crossover cables.
  • Redundant DC power input: Accepts 12–48 VDC with a redundant input design, protected by power polarity reverse protection and a resettable overload current fuse; the switch automatically resumes normal operation once power is restored.
  • Event alarm relay output: A built-in relay and status LED flag power failures in real time, so administrators can spot faults immediately without dedicated monitoring software.
  • Per-port diagnostic LEDs: Each port has two LEDs indicating link status, transmission speed, and collision status for fast, tool-free troubleshooting.
  • Jumbo frame support: Handles jumbo frame transmission up to 9 kbytes, useful for high-throughput industrial data and video traffic.
  • Wide operating temperature range: The "I" designation supports operation from −40 °C to 75 °C, suited to unheated cabinets and harsh ambient conditions.
